What is New Year

The start of every year is New Year, basically every year is called New Year once, start of a new year is celebrated as Happy New Year. We also can say that New Year is a world wide festival which is observed on the beginning of a new calendar. For every year there is a different calendar and calendar’s start is celebrated as New Year, most of the part of this world celebrates New Year’s Day (New Year) on January 1 (starting day of a year in modern Gregorian calendar).

January 1 is the first day of the year on the modern Gregorian calendar, where a year is start on 1 January (New Year’s Day) and ends on 31 December (New Year’s Eve). A year that follow modern Gregorian calendar is called Gregorian year, it has a length of 365 days in an ordinary year and 366 days in a leap year.

An ordinary year is 8,760 hours, 525,600 minutes and 31,536,000 seconds long. A leap year is 8,784 hours, 527,040 minutes, and 31,622,400 seconds long.
